After an ultrasound last week, Sara was told she had a blockage in a drainage duct in her liver. On May 7, at Providence Portland Medical Center, she had a CT scan and other exploratory surgery.
Her surgeon says a small tumor at the top of her pancreas is blocking the outflow of her liver, and that it looks like cancer. Biopsy results will be returned in about 3 days.
Let's agree in prayer for her healing: "Jesus, thank you that you will shrink and dry up that tumor, we command it to bow to the name of Jesus, and that it will forever be gone. Amen."
She arrived home from the hospital on May 8. Her daughter Shawna thought Sara and John would appreciate some meals from her church family.
Our goal is to provide 3-4 meals per week for a few weeks, possibly on Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
Please plan to cook for 4 people, as her son and daughter are able to be with them at meal time often. And if not, they can have leftovers the next day or so.
Her dietary needs are fairly simple. Main items she can eat are chicken, turkey, brown rice, whole what pasta. Fruit, yogurt, salads, and some casseroles are recommended. No soups please. She eats a low fat, low sodium diet. When cooking, do not add salt.
Please call her home before taking the meal. Her number is in the email you received. The best time to deliver is between 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM.
It would be great to get some meals scheduled right away for the next 2 or 3 weeks. Contact Dot or Pastor Ed at 503-653-0174 for more information.
